Quilting Inspiration from Italy

I just returned from a 3-week trip to Italy.  Today I’m sharing photos of floors, walls and windows that reminded me of quilt patterns. All are old except for the last two–a modern art piece and a scarf for sale. The second photo shows the floor in St. Mark’s cathedral in Venice; it’s hard to believe that those blocks are really a flat surface created hundreds of years ago!

On November 1 I will update my etsy shop with sock yarn–both the Russian Rainbow colorway and a new one.
